I changed the blades on my woods mower yesterday. When I was finished I was bleeding form two places, and had several bruses on my arms. I looked like my cat was helping me. Does your skin get thinner as you get older? I will be 64 in a few day's. Stan

I'm 55. Between aspirin therapy for my heart and the effect of the natural aging process on skin, I bleed if you look at me cross-eyed.

Useta wuz, I'd rap a knuckle, mutter a couple of incantations, and get on with whatever I was doing. Now I HAVE to stop and go get a bandaid, or I'll bleed all over everything.

It hasn't hit me yet but Dad's 58 and he's getting the same way. My dog jumped up on him the other day wanting to be petted. When he does this to me I may get a scratch or two, but Dad's arms looked like he'd been in a fight with a meat grinder and lost. He didn't really blead much but the scratches bruised and turned blue and stayed that way for a couple of days.

Ya chief, I'm on blood thinners for high blood pressure, and I walk around all the time looking like I got in a fight with a roll of barbed wire. And when I do get a cut, it will bleed forever. I'm 58, so you got a little on me, Harley

Now Harley,

Hate to break this to ya, but I think you should get a second opinion.

That pretty little redhead you are married to would give any all-American man high blood pressure! :>)

Don't know about skin, but hair gets thinner, except in your ears.

I worked indoors most of my working life-only started working outside last ten years, after i "retired"! don't like to get too much sun anyway. My wife got me a large straw hat to wear while on the riding mower, to make some shade. about 10 years ago, a young, new, Dr. in the local office, told me to start taking a baby aspirin every morning. About a week of that, and one morning, i arose to find my nose leaking blood all over the bed and floor!! I thought i had a brain tumor, or something even worse! Ran off to the Dr. that morning! The old Dr. was there, asked me what medicine i was taking! I told him about the baby aspirin. He told me to stop taking it, and drink a beer every day, t'would clear it up. Well, he was right! Never had the problem again! And, i figured 2 beers a day would make me better than one! Worked! Went to the VA to see about getting a new artificial leg. They said to come in to hospital, and bring all of my medicines! HMMMPH! I figured if i took in a six-pack, i'd get a stretch in the slammer, so i took nothing! The lady DR. tried everything to make me look like a weak old-timer, but failed! I think they figured an 81 year old guy didn't have much longer to go, so they tried to discourage me. Heck, i ain't figgerin on leaving anytime soon--have a lot to accomplish, places to go, things to see! Aint life great!! Although, my wife talked me into selling my motorcycle last fall, said she worried about me riding off 200 miles or so, on a nice Sunday! Rustyj

Allan, you could be right, but what a way to go. You should know.

Pete, that's like saying at a bike rally, "Will the guy with the black t-shirt, boots and beard please come to the front gate!" Harley
