I just sold an F-250 that didn't run 4 speed 4X4 got $1000 for it.

After reading what you guys said, I think I'll look the guy up and give him back about $700. You guys made me feel real bad about screwing the guy.

Geez! I have a '92 Buick Regal with 3800 V6 that runs like a champ that I can't sell and I'm only asking $500. The car looks good, too. Problems are it needs a windshield, glass in the right side mirror and the A/C doesn't make cold air anymore. Had it charged last year and the mechanic said it was only halfway working and would probably need a compressor soon. Oh, and the odometer doesn't work so miles are unknown. Still, IT RUNS! I'm only selling it because I don't need it anymore.

Tim who would give $500 for a 78 that doesn't run that is all rusted out.

Don't you feel bad about that deal?

Gary

looks like the buyer got a good two front bumper guards, grill and headlight. Around here the building inspector would order it removed under the nuisance abatement laws. Good resto for someone handy with about 50k to spend. Would have offered scrap value.

The big problem with that vintage Ford pickup is the front cab mounts rust and collapse.... That truck looks like they're JUST starting to settle... which causes ALL kinds of problems with clutch & shifter linkage and steering columns. I had a '78 F-150 about 20 yrs ago....The driver's door was 3-4 inches SHORTER than the passenger door because of rust.

On my '78, the rear corner bulkhead in the bed rusted loose- so side of bed was flopping around, trying to fall off. Pretty much gave it to a kid who wanted to learn to do bodywork- he got a pretty good lesson out of it, but I still see it around once in awhile.
