I don"t know where the tractors are coming from, I would guess from Waterloo. I do know the Deere plant in Ankeny, Ia makes sprayers and cotton pickers/ strippers. Most of the equipment that leaves there is on trucks, but they do load a few train cars. Who knows where they"re heading, best way to find out is to jump on board while the train is going past.

I read someplace that most dealers recieve their orders by road transport, as a large train load usually means an overseas shipment on their way to a port. Waterloo was the manufacturing place.

Well, the big JD tractors are built in Waterloo, Iowa. I would say you are east of Waterloo someplace. So the tractors themselves could be going to any one of numerous places.
