I have been searching the net over, looking for a wiring diagram for a 53 NAA wiring diagram. There are many posts on this subject but all forwarding links have dried up. I have been replacing defective gauges in a recently purchased NAA and when I came to the ampmeter I expected to plug and play but there are no wires on the back of gauge and no stray wires just hang out. (thank goodness). Having some electrical experience but not comfortable with 6volt pos. grd systems I expect the minus of the ampmeter to go back to the battery and the + of the ampmeter to go back to the ingition switch or someplace close but I am afraid to guess at my own expense. I suppose I should just break down and buy a shop manual but all my spare cash has been going into things like gauges ,proofmeters,tie-rod ends and not to mention my gas tanks. Any help on this subject would be appreciated and a direction to where I could find a wiring diagram would be great . I just would like to understand how this thing ticks . thanks

Thanks for your help guys, This has helped me but 1 question I have is for Soundguy. What do you mean by "the ammeter might have been orginal loop style". How will that change the way I hook up the replacement I purchased from TSC? Thanks

First off if its a 1953 its not an NAA but a Jubilee. Jubilees where made in 53 and the NAA in 54. There was a daigram posted just yesterday on either the Jubilee/Naa or the 8N don't remember which down in the ford forum or the ford 2N/9N/8N forum. If you need other info on it I have an Naa owners maul and can scan any pages from it if you ask and send me an e-mail

That ammeter may have been an original with a 'loop' style inductive pickup.
