God I love this "If you don't know what it is it will kill you attitude".

Weldon gave the only totally accurate description of what you have. I don't feel that I need to add to his comments, only re-enforce that they are accurate.

Paraquat is used as a "burn down" weed control prior to planting crops by no tillage method. Also used to defoliate cotton prior to harvest. It is available today as "Gramoxone Max". It is a restricted use herbicide due to acute oral toxicity and it carries a skull and crossbones label.A private applicators license is needed to purchase it. Safe to use when precautions for use are followed as directed by label. (Use common sense.) 2,4,D is a herbicide used to kill broad leafed weeds in corn, sorghum, wheat and grass lands. It has been in use for many years. A very safe product to use as it carries only a caution label. It is found in some of the "weed and feed" lawn and turfgrass fertilizer products. Agent orange was a 50/50 mixture of 2,4,D and 2,4,5,T -a brush/woody species herbicide(no longer available).

If you want to get rid of both these herbicides, check with local farmers. Chances are someone can use it- give it to them .

Great Dane is right except it's not a soil sterilizer unless you use it straight. 2-4-d is used for broad leafs, 2-4-5-t for heavy brush ( barkie plants. I have used both for many years, wish we could still get 2-4-5-t but no cigar. The reason the gov. took it off the market is because it was showing up in buzzard eggs!

Agent Orange was 2-4-5T, a brush killer. Paraquat was what the federal government sprayed on the marijajuana crops in Mexico many years ago.
A domestic use of it was as a soil sterilizer herbicide.

Actually 2,4D is only half of Agent Orange. Agent Orange was a mix of 2,4D and another compound. As it turns out the other compound is what caused the problems with Agent Orange. 2,4D is actually a very safe herbicide but with a kind of negative reputation because of Agent Orange. None the less all pesticides should be taken seriously.

Paraquat is some nasty stuff especially if its older. I believe the new paraquat has an additive that makes a person vommitt if they even have a taste of it. If I remember right that is one of the herbicides that only takes about a tablespoon to kill you. Most states do have a program to collect and properly dispose of old chemicals like that. I'd definately look into disposing of that properly.

The 2-4D is a common herbicide that is used in a variety of applications. The parquat is some very stout and potent stuff. It has sent people to the hospital sfter the stuff got on their skin and clothes. But it is a dandy weed killer.

Here in ND, the State Ag Dept has a program to collect and properly dispose of dangerous old ag chemicals. Perhaps the ag dept in your state/province has something similar.
