Where did my JD B come from?

I have a little 1941 JD B. I baught it with a JD 101 Picker for a thousand bucks. The tractor ran when I got it and the picker works. I have now made it into a pulling tractor for the summer. It only has the motor reworked and it runs on Alcohol, along with a few secret tips. The tractor is restored and still runs good. Since I started with the Outlaw series, I don't have time to pull with it anymore. I am thinking about junking it out. But first, I was wanting to know just a little bit about it. Like, maybe where it was shipped and with what the origional options where. The serial number on it is 123947. How can I get some info on the tractor? Is there one HUGE book or maybe a phone number. I also have a John Deere BN that still runs, but in the process of reworking the motor. The metal on it is EXELLENT, NO DENTS, NOT CUT HOOD, JUST LIGHTLY FADED PAINT. I was also wondering about this tractor. I will have to run out and get the serial number. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRICIATED. HAVE A EXELLENT NEW YEAR AND GOD BLESS!

"Two Cylinder" Magazine will do the research for about $15.00 or $20.00. You will get a certificate that has all the info. available from JD, such as build date, ship date, options, where it was shipped, etc.

You may as well go ahead and junk it. Bring it over to my place and I'll give you the going rate per pound.

Kurt, you need to go to the John Deere forum and post your questions there. More people on the John Deere forum that might beable to answer most of your question...

Unlike automobiles and in my own opinion (IMHO), tractors don't seem to maintain a paper trail; who, where, when, etc. You've done a lot of work to make it a special pulling tractor and I'd suggest you offer it for sale either as a puller or for some officiando to restore it to it's original glory. The BN is with a Narrow front end otherwise a B. And the B isn't considered a small one as I have an "H" which is tiny in comparison and there's "L's" which are even smaller. Someone on this board is salivating to get their hands on your gem, IMHO! And possibly your other body parts for doing what you did? LOL!
