I know this isn't tractor related but it may help prolong my tractor collecting days. Wife's 97 Grand Cherokee, failed rear wiper motor, bought used one, it was bad too (I know, but I took my chances). apparently seizing in the shaft end when pot metal corrodes is chronic problem. Bought new, it doesn't work at all! Freed up old one, it works but I got it out of "time" by moving worm gear mesh. There are six wires- one hot all the time and one turns on and off with switch. I assume others are delay etc. I don't want to fool around jumping terminals incase I can return this one. Please help keep my Christmas a married one. thank you

Redd. I just went thru the same thing with the rear wiper on a Cherokee (not a Grand Cherokee however and while the wiper looks similiar to what's in a Grand it is not a perfect swap) Anyhow, I tried two motors from a junk yard and neither worked. They just make a clicking sound. Ended up buying a rebuilt for about $100 and the instructions on it said to be real careful not to reverse the polarity or you would jam up the gearing. I did try to test the junkyard ones so perhaps I jamed them up. So I didn't try to test the rebuilt one before I installed it and instead bolted it in place and then hooked it up with the original electrical connector. Everthing worked out fine. Pete

I just went thru everything, and I mean everything, you did, but on a 98 Grand Cherokee. Since then, I bought a NEW one on ebay for 65 bucks delivered, and it works fine. The first so called new one, was from Autozone, and did not work at all, the ones on ebay are actually new ones, and mine works fine.
