When I was a kid in Loogootee Indiana my Uncle Charles always pulled these on me, this one is sooooo o easy and its NOT a trick question, just simple first grade arithmetic.

If it took a chicken and a half (1.5 chickens) a day and a half (1.5 days) to lay an egg and a half (1.5 eggs), HOW LONG would it take 3 chickens to lay 3 eggs ????? ?

Ol John T Nordhoff in Indiana

Give Dean in Iowa the award. Hes dead on, twice as many chickens can lay twice the number of eggs in the SAME TIME i.e. day and a half.

Those chickens must have been crossing the road on the west side of Loogootee (Amish area). Graber apparently hit one of them with a buggy wheel and cut her plum in half!

A day and a half. Twice as many chickens would lay twice as many eggs in the same amount of time

if it takes a chicken and a half a day and a half to lay an egg and a half, how long will it take a grasshopper with a wooden leg to kick all the seeds out of a watermelon?

Twice as long as if he had 2 legs. (i always heard "kick all the juice out of a pickled cucumber!") It is strange how those old adages or what ever they are just never die and it seems that half the people in the world have heard them!!

If a chicken and a half laid an egg and a half in a day and a half, how long would it take a monkey with a wooden leg to beat the seeds out of a dill pickle?
