John Deere B year?

Hi guys. I posted this question on the JD board and got several responses(thank you) however I'm no further ahead 'cause the JD board seems to be down. Can't get anybodies ?s/answers on it; all others work fine. I can't read the serial # tag and can't figure how to cross reference engine#. Eng.#-B1783R,Trans#1840B,rear axle B1301R, right side gear coverB1858R. Can anyone tell me what year it is.6 speed. thanks guys&gals

Thanks for the imput guys. Really appreciate the answers. I foud that casting # on the differential today-12-12 and it does indeed have what looks like a year on a tag just below that-42. I need to gr=et a pair of 4 bolt wheels and tires for it. 4 bolt cast centers.

I thought I was told once there is a "year" stamp on the side of the differential casting somewhere. Like a casting no. then a 41 let's say right after it for the year 1941. I know my dad showed it to me back when I was a kid which is longer ago than most of us want to fess up to.

With that engine number its somewhere between 1941-1947

I agree. Now if we have him look at some items like does it have a pressure radiator asthey used durring some of the war years. On my old computer I had a printout of a bunch of little changes in model A tractors guess I never did for a model B.
