Had to split my Ford 801 yesterday and got to looking at the clutch and noticed the drive clutch was about 3/32 thinner than the pto clutch which I understand because I seldom use the pto.
Question is have any of you rebuilt a two stage? The drive clutch looks like a pretty common spline and I"m guessing the high cost of the whole unit is the Large Spline pto clutch, which I don"t need.
I"m choking over the $550 for a rebuilt unit!
Thanks, Richard

A special fixture is required to assemble, align and adjust the double clutch.

If your clutch is still working fine, you might want to leave it alone.

BTW, this is an excellent opportunity to replace your starter ring gear.

Well... I didn"t realize that is where I posted the question " has anyone done this?" and for the record, grinding the fly wheel is not required. The clutch and pressure plates are independant. Just like more than one opinion if you know what I mean. Thanks, Richard

If everything else is good, why not replace the drive clutch, throwout bearing and pilot bearing and let it go another round?
