steel pipe for hydraulic lines

I am refurbishing my Wagner loader for my 841; sections of the hydraulic lines (mounted on the frame of the loader) are comprised of steel pipe, and some have worn areas. I'd like to replace them with steel.

Is normal black steel plumbing pipe acceptable for this application, or do I need special high preasure pipe?

Anyone ever had them made up at a hydraulics shop; was it expensive?

Thanks.

Probably what I call mechanical tubing...cold rolled...look at the wall thickness of the original and call steel warehouses till you find the one that stocks it. Probably comes in 12" lengths...buy full lengths and cut it to size yourself. If you put the ends on it I would recommend nickel silver brazing or silver soldering. Paint....then install...you"ll be happy. Fred OH

My JD 5020 had steel tubing running from front of tractor to med section. I seen it had been patched several times by brazing. I took it to a hose shop they replaced it with rubber HP hose. It was around 6 ft. and didn't cost very much compaired to a new one from JD. Stan

If it was me I would put on steel tubing, not pipe. Use compression fittings on the steel tube and bend the tube to fit.

Can"t spell this but hope you get what I mean. Schule 80 pipe is good for hyds. Nothing less, the 40 will blow out on you in a short time but the 80 holds up very well
