Most GP part numbers started with a C. What you have is a flywheel for a GP.

If it is casting C241R, the flywheel is for a GP tractor, or as the others said, a C too.

Sure looks like it came off a Deere something! Maybe a stationary engine?

Howard, I have never heard of a John Deere C. I suppose there could be such a thing, as they had B and D. Don't know. Will be watching this to see what you find out. Delbert

Accoording to most of the JD history that I have read, the Model C was experimental and was recalled and relabeled as a GP because they were afraid that the letter C would be easily misunderstood for tgheir current model D tractors.

I think it could be flywheel for a GP or early C. The C or All Crop tractor made in 1927-28 was the forerunner of the GP and the it was changed because C sounded too much like D.

Yeah, what Glen said.

The same thing happened for the model G tractor, that is why G part numbers start with F.

That flywheel looks to be in fairly good shape. Find any other GP parts there? Look for the rest of the tractor!

Dave
