Wondering how much of a load a 9' haybine is for a Farmall 560D? Talking grass hay, sometimes real thick, sometimes not. Is there maybe 15hp to spare while running the haybine without getting into the "wish I wouldn't have" zone? Thanks for indulging my fatasizing. :>) Loren.

I pull a NH 492 haybine with my 460 and have been in some heavy canary grass. The tractor never really seen a load. The 560 should play with it
(Before the NH haybine it pulled a Int. 990.)
Sorry, you have no excuse to trade tractors. (or buy another)

Thanks, Old you gave me an idea. in reply to Loren, 08-04-2005 21:16:53
I have a 77 Standard. Instead of getting a bigger tractor, for now maybe I'll look for a moco and run the 77/moco in a parade with the Case swather. Course the first moco I found that's price do-able is a Vicon discbine, probably need more hp for that bird. :>(

My uncle (who just so happens to be named Loren, too) uses a 560D for his mower... which is a 9' NH... I think.

So does my cousin (his son)

Shouldn't be a bit of a problem...

Steve

Oh you'll love it! I cut with a 656 (same engine) and 14 ft swather all the time. Oh yeah, mine is tuboed and walks and talks! But yes, I have a neighbor that has a 560 gas and have used it on a 14 ft machine too and it does just fine.

I pulled a 469 and a 479 for years with my 560 diesel, right now I"m using a 489 with my 460 with no problems. I"ve cut peas and oats that would make her snort some, matter of fact I"ve got bigger tractors that I could use,(806, 190) but I prefer the 460, can see the sickle and what"s going on better.

I cut some grean graze for a guy once, had some up land and a little branch bottom. on the up land it was about 3 ft. tall in the bottom it was as tall as the muffler on the 460D. I was using a 479, in the bottom I was in 1st gear and making smoke, but that old 479 just kept eating it.

Addition. in reply to Loren, 08-04-2005 21:16:53
I work rough fields so the ground speed may very well be below what normal outfits run. I see that NH states a 35 hp tractor requirement for the 488, but you guys may have some real world facts that supercede that. Thanks, Loren.
