Groan,

Forgot about this part. I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a flat tire; sometime in the early 70s maybe?

Oh well, I know right where the silly nail is. :>)

Oh yeah, The guy that used to live on this place had junk all over. There is so much nails and wire that if you ever started picking it up you would never finish. So I just drive on it.

Allen it loks like it's time to get rid of those 'City Boy' P tires and go to a 6 ply LT or maybe 8 plys.

Not too long ago the Wife came home and announced that she had a low tire on her Tahoe. I told her to take the car that sat outside, and I would look at it in the morning.
Next morning, I went out to the garage where the Tahoe and my pickup were. Don't you know that not only did the Tahoe have a flat on the rear...but so did my 3/4 T pickup! I don't think I've ever had a flat with a 10 ply tire until then. (Darn leadheaded ringshank nails do a good job.)

Hey DL!

That was my first thought too. After we got kind of caught up around here last night, we went back out there and walked that whole yard.

Picked up half a milk pail full of old nails and balin' wire "pieces".

'Spose this stuff is going to "grow" to the surface for some time.

What works great for that tedious task is either a magnet just on a handle, or even better a 12" magnet on wheels. Just go up & down the driveway with that a few times & you'll be amazed... We just had to fix a tire on our gehl 970 wagon a little while back because of a nail, and then our 1855 Ollie found a spring tooth from our wheel rake. The wire came off the wheel that holds onto the coils after they break off. just wraps around the wheel inside the coils, works pretty good too.

Allan, I know exactly how you feel. However, I dodged a bullet today. Took my homemade cattle trailer to pick up a corral gate. Two of the old car tires on the trailer have been leaking down, but the last I checked they were up. Wrong! When I got to the dealer they were almost flat. Stopped at a convience store where I had to pay $.50 for air to pump them up, which was better than a flat. On top of that, I forgot to get the hinge parts that screw into the post. Another trip in the morning. Now, since misery loves company maybe you will feel better. See what you mean about the heavy truck springs.

Sure you don't have some pranksters about. That nail looks conspicuously centered in that tread like it was deliberate.

I know...your wife did it so that you would quit farmin and come to the house and get your "honey do's" finished. Har Har..... .couldn't resist as usual.....my big mouth flappin again LOL.

You laugh. Down the road is the guy who packs nails for Home Depot. Gets them by the semiload and puts them in those little boxes you buy. If you don't think his driveway isn't a problem, I'm here to tell you.
