I have a 1960 Towmotor model 461RS (US ARMY Model MHF169). I replaced all the power steering hoses and must have had a vapor lock when I installed them because now no power steering. The steering box alone has 4 hoses to it, all the same size fitting. If anyone has a diagram of this type of system or can tell me where each hose goes I would really appreciate the help. (BTW, great website! It has been my best tool for the restoration of an 8N).

Hey Keith, I'm pretty decent on hydraulics but steering systems are one thing I've never fully understood. With that said I recently had to replace the steering pump on an older CAT loader with basically the same type steering system but on a little larger scale. When I got the pump replaced I ran into the same type problem your describing. All I had to do was start spinning the wheel around to the left and the back to the right...about 10 or so fairely quick turns before reversing direction and doing the same thing the other way. It took me more than a few times of this back and forth for it to finally pick up and start working but it finally did. Other than that I don't know what else to tell you. Good luck.
