My neighbor brought my tractor back with deisel in the crank case. He said the seal in the hi-pressure pump leaked. Where can i find a seal for the pump and is it something i can repair myself and what are the chances of the engine still being okay. I plan to change the oil and filter before starting it up. The tractor has been sitting for about 5 years now and i would like to try to get it going. The tractor only has about 200 hrs on it. I bought it new in 1987 and there is no one around here now that sells or services them. Thanks Terry

A nearby diesel shop should be able to advise you with the pump, and repair it as needed. Also, is there a "transfer pump" that could have a bad diaphragm or seal, and be leaking fuel into the crankcase?

I new it had the transfer pump didn"t know that that could leak into the crank case. How does it get from the transfer pump into the crank case? The closest injection pump repair shop is in Fredrick Oklahoma which is about 85 miles from me. There used to be one here in Wichita Falls. Texas but i think he may have died and the shop is not here any more. I thot maybe i could go to a tractor shop and buy the parts. Thanks Terry

Where is the transfer pump located... on the injection pump, or is it a separate unit mounted to the engine? That is the question I raised.

Could you post a picture?
