Hi All,

Moved the little H out to the country and put 'er to work again; been kinda in semi retirement fer too long (like me).

The old heifer remembered how ta stack hay and I'm sure at one point, that I detected a grin on that old tractor's grille! :>)

Well it's nice that you got your shear bolt replaced so that you can continue putting up the field.

That's your second of three restorations isn't it?

Now Allan, we are just going to have to sit down and discuss your SLOPPTY BALIN buddy. LMAO. Mother Deere would roll in her grave if she saw that. Grin

I assume you are already putting your 320 acres to use. Guess you bought it with the hay crop on it.

Nice pics.

Mark

Allen

I would also be worried about hay spoiling if rained on. Looks like that New Holland baler got'er done!

Hi John,

Naw, doesn't rain enough out here to be an issue. 2nd year hay will have the spoilage at the bottom of the stack. 'Bout 3" worth where the bales set on the ground.

While I was out there, I should have taken some shots of the big fields that the prior owners are putting up. I think they are stacking for a semi type stack mover; 22 bales to a stack.

I've got my eye on an old Farmhand brand chain loader stack-mover, so will stay with the little 11 bale stacks. What I've always done in the past and it works. :>)

Hey Allan, you are looking for a stack mover? Would a JD work for you? I have one that I would about give to you (perfect price), but you would need to drag it home and it will be a bit more of a load than your haybine was...

Nice !!! Farmalls have excellent memories didn't you know. Just don't take that H over to the round baler and ask if she wants a try because she will try and then nobody's gonna be happy. An ole H will try anything once and do a pretty good job too. What the world are those wheel weights anyway? Look like old W series or heaven forbid some other brand. Gotta find something to give you grief about. Keep on Tractorin. Migraine

I was going to mention that, but Allan was farmin when I was knee high to a grasshopper so I thought I'd let it pass.

I agree with you and stack mine N-S with walking room between, one layer and perferable on sloping ground, butted together, end to end.

Keeps best that way.

The other reason for leaving him be was that he may be staging it for move off on an 18 wheeler as from his pic his field looks remote.

Glad to see he has those fork fingers over the top of the bale so it can't roll down the arms of the loader and kill him.
