I've recently been given an old Rotary Mower by Independent Mfg.Co,Inc. manufactured in Neodesha, KS. IT NEEDS NEW BLADES AND U-JOINTS! It's a 5' brush hog mower and roughly 20-25 years old. It was purchased at a Quality Farm & Fleet store; but they no longer carry parts. Does anyone know where I might be able to get parts?

Bush hog blades will work on the IMCO provided that the blade bolts have the 1/2 inch shoulder. But even if they are the 3/8 shoulder you can put a shim on them and make them work. Southeast MFG and Big Ox took over IMCO and they too sold out. I believe Modern Equipment Co. bought their inventory and hauled everything to Beaumont, Texas. They call themselves Dragon Products now. Their phone number is 409-833-2665

I too am looking for parts for an IMCO finish mower. Mine is a Challenger II model 643-24, and it is a 6 foot finish mower. The dealer I bought it from went out of business about 6 months after I bought it. If you should find someone that has parts or knows where one can buy parts for such a nice mower let me know PLEASE....sory I cannot help you as I am in the same situation....I twisted a shaft on the gearbox off and had a machine shop cut one out but now I am looking for blades as well as another gear box as the seal opening was damaged when the shaft broke and it is leaking oil. I will keep searching for a supplyer and would apprecate it if you could keep me informed as to what you find out in the way of a dealer or parts supplyer.
Thanks
Bill from KY
