Has any body ever tried running hot water in the cooling system of a stuck engine to help unlock it?? I've been thinking about setting up a rig to do that, I fugure if the engine got up close to as hot as it would be when running it might help unlock a stuck engine. Of course I'd still do the oil/tranny fluid /turpentine thing first.

I did this 2 years ago on a 420JD. Plumbed an old 20# propane tank into the bottom of the block, filled everything to the top with water and heated the tank with a gas burner. The radiator was disconnecteted and the head was off. I drilled a piece of square tube to line up with the head bolts across the cylinder, put steel blocking under it on top of the piston and cranked down the bolts. Worked slick.

Hi George. Couldn't get it hot enough. I didn't realize that being in two pieces one side would cool off for the few seconds the other side was being heated. Gonna rent another brush torch Sat and try again. My nephew went thru tech school and knows all kinds of welding so I'm letting him do it. I never did any gas welding and very little brazing.
