Jmeyer, Its called "the cost of doing business". If you owned a used car lot, you would no doubt have your share of "tire kickers" or worse, someone who wanted to "take her out for a spin" Any moron in the business would expect to have to take precautions to make sure the person taking a spin has a valid drivers license, and have enough sense to write down the number before letting the car out of the lot, fully insured, of course. Doing business on the internet is no different. If you are going to be in business it is your responsibility to make sure you know what the pratfalls are, and be able to reasonably discern the "tire kickers" from the legitimate buyers. The internet people owe you nothing, "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING". What they are providing you is a stand from which you hawk your wares. If they have to hold your hand to make sure you dont do something stupid, then you shouldnt be in business in the first place. YOur E.Mail box is no different than the mail box you walk out to every day and sort out the trash that the mail man left you. He doesnt do it for you, only acts as a messenger. The internet providers or eBay, or any other site of that nature is only acting as the messenger. I"m not picking on you personally, but the message is to everyone who buys or sells over the internet. What gets me is those who so much as wonder if it might be a scam if someone offers more than the agreed upan price of something and wants you to send the difference. Anyone who is so desperate to enter into a deal like that deserves to get hosed, because, rule #1 is that a seller never opens his own checkbook, NEVER. If anyone cant get that one right, then that person isnt fit to be in business. It isnt a case of the strong taking advantage of the weak, its more a case of someone with average or less intellegence taking advantage of someone stupid. That goes for doing business with overseas buyers or the guy next door. To make ones own stupidity the responsibility of someone else is totally ludicrous. My .02.
