I have been fixing up a 1/2 9N 1/2 8NB combination that someone has put together before I aquired it.The carb had the choke flapper and arm backwards. I have rebuilt the entire carb and it works fine now. The problem I am going through now is bazaar or possesed, I put in four new spark plugs ( Champion # 512 gaped @ .25 )
After new plugs were installed it would not fire a lick so to check to see if I was getting fire I took of the # 2 plug wire and pluged a old spark plug on it and layed it againt the ec=xhaust manifold and when I turned it over to check to see if it was firing it cranked running only on the three cylinders, as soon as you put the plug wire back on the plug in the haed it dies and wil nor run. What is happening here as it has me dumbfounded. Any advise would be appreciated, Thanks

CHECK YOUR DISTRIBUTOR CAP. IF IT HAS A BURN MARK RUNNING FROM THE COIL TERMINAL TO #2 POST THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM. THERE IS PROBABLY LESS RESISTANCE IN THAT WIRE OR IT'S SHORTED SOMEWHERE SO ALL THE VOLTAGE TAKES THE SHORTEST PATH TO GROUND.
