IMy dad plugged the mower an didn't shut the pto off fast enough, it nearly stalled the tractor now the PTO will not disengage, is the PTO clutch up on the flywheel on these tractors, What could be the problem?

Had similar problem on dad's 4010,found that the 3 pins that hold the clutch fingers had grooves worn in enough that fingers couldn't release. Pins can be replaced through bottom access plate if you have patience and small hands (Beats having to split the tractor).

It sounds as if you may have a twisted PTO input shaft. That is a dualplate clutch setup and the PTO input shaft slides inside of the main shaft.

if the tractor is powershift, the pto disks were probably warped by the heat of the slipage.
