I was bush hogging over the weekend and i hit a high spot and bogged down the cutter and stalled my tractor. It then would not start. I thought perhaps it flooded. I let it sit for a day and tried again and it still wont start. It cranks fine but wont fire. Where do I start to find the resolve to this problem? All suggestions welcome. Thanks so much.

like RickB suggested i'd also bet on the shutoff cable, since you said it stalled when you drove it to the bump.

Possibly your fuel filter was getting clogged, and that last hard bog down finished it off.Maybe change the fuel filter, prime the system and see if it will start. Diesels do not get flooded.

To prime an engine, which may be a little bit of a misnomer, you use the hand pump on the injector pump. All it usually takes is a few strokes to force the air out. You should feel resistance when the system is primed.

Since the tractor is turning over I assume it is out of gear, and that the PTO is disengaged. I don't think they will even turn over otherwise. If it will turn over with it in gear or with PTO engage, then perhaps there is a fuel cut off safety feature.

Since a diesel relies on compression for ignition, it has to be a fuel problem or an air intake problem. My bet is fuel if not some safety feature. Keep us posted please.

The 2600 has no hand primer pump.
The 2600 has no safety switch on the PTO control.
The 2600 neutral safety switch interrupts the cranking circuit, not the fuel supply. Easy stuff first. Check to see the fuel shutoff cable is allowing the shutoff lever on the injection pump to go fully forward. Make sure there is fuel in the tank. When was the fuel filter last changed?

Check to be sure you have fuel getting to your filter. If there is not a hand primer in the system you need to crank the engine. There should be bleed screws on your injector pump, usually 2,1 high and one low. When you crack them and crank the engine you should get fuel out of them. You should get fuel there even if there is a problem with the shutoff. If you get fuel out of the bleeds the tighten them and crack the lines at the injectors, when you start to get fuel from each one tighten them back up and it should start.
