Dont sound bad to me. He is going to send you a cashiers check and then send someone to pick up the tractor or contac you. After you receive your money and it is good then you could realese the tractor to his agent. How else would anyone from another country buy a tractor or anything? There are people in the US buying things for shipment overseas. Last summer there were guys from NEW ZEALAND getting things here in IOWA. Heard they were filling a couple of contaniers. I know a fellow in WISC that gets stuff fron western EUROPE and delivered to MILL.

The catch is they send you more money than you asked for; and you are supposed to send back the difference.

SCAM.

Their check is no good, and the bank will demad it back from you. Meanwhile, they have the bucks you sent them, & no one is gonna look at your tractor.

The scammers want to send you a cashiers check or some other bogus instrument but they want you to send their refund back by western union because they know its secure.

I only sell for cash when picked up or payment by Western Union money wire. that way I go the Western Union office and collect cash. Normally you get no response to that approach.

If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, smells like a duck, and tastes like a duck, chances are it's a duck. No offence to the person who posted the question but if I read one more of these (which I know I shouldn't bother) I'm gonna scream.

Scam. They are doing this with most anything advertised for sale on the net. Many bullitin boards ad page now have a warning about them. Check appears good enough to cash, later is found to be bogus.

It's a scam. Pursue it to the point that you tell him that you'll withhold shipment until the check clears and you'll not send any excess money back by Western Union...in cash.

S.C.A.M..... ..... .... All the local auctioneers in my area, are refusing to accept casheirs checks (cheques...HA) Seems that they are the latest method of operation for scammers, and rip-off artists. First off, doesn't it seem odd that they never ask about the condition of what you're trying to sell? They just want it, no questions asked. Secondly, they always seem to be buying it for someone else. Possible, but unlikely. I have had several "replies" on low dollar items, say under $250, that I've listed in adds. Why on GOD's green earth would someone offer more than my asking price, then pay huge shipping cost's to ship it overseas, when the same items are still available in their part of the world? I follow the old axiom, If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you want to take a chance on them, just tell them to show up with U.S. cash ONLY. See how quick the "offer" is withdrawn. Unfortunately, this website draws as many nuts, thieves, con artists, and scammers as it does good people, interested in tractors and farm equipment. Don't feel alone. We've all got our share of scam replies. Some even look almost OK. Be carefull. There's a world full of loonies out there, just wanting your hard earned money. John

Sounds like a scam to me. Why would anyone need an agent to buy a tractor for them? Also, in North America, we spell it check, if it is spelled cheque, he is from overseas.

Why would you think this is a scam? Sopunds like the man's an agent and you are being paid by cashiers check. After you cash it he wants to arrange pickup. Where's the scam?

Vadave. I hope to God you are joking. If not, people like you are the reason they keep trying. If one in five hundred "bite" they make easy money. I got the exact reply this morning on my tractor.

Most of you guys are right on the money, but I have a little different slant on things. If it looks like a skunk, it sounds like a skunk, and smells like a skunk, you don't necessarily have to go around to the back end to get hosed. Of coarse it is a scam. Like the others said, When they show up on your front step with good old American green, walk out with them, show them the tractor, make the deal and go to the house and let them load "their" tractor and be proud in the fact that you got what you wanted and so did he, and everybody's happy. Otherwise, tell them to "blow me". Just some answers I have given to them. Harley
