I have been trying to sell two different tractors on this site, and I have been receiving emails from people in different countrys, them saying that they will buy them, but after about 4 weeks of waiting for payment, I am wondering if they are ligit dealings. Does anybody know?

It amazes that these "buyers" are still doing this. I amazes me more that people are still falling for this. Does YTMAG need to put a link about scammers on there home page?

I heard about this scam 3-4 years ago and people are still getting taken. If the money is coming from a different country DO RESEARCH BEFORE YOU AGREE TO ANYTHING. All you would have to do is search for scam.

By the way, let me guess, this person wanted to send extra money and never came to look at the tractor?

If it smells rotton,it's rotten. If any email comes from another country or is written in poor english or just seems too eager to send me money, I just delete it. Just sold a tractor last week on this site. The man drove 400 miles the next day and handed me cold hard american greenbacks. Now that is the way i like to do bussiness.

Search here for 'scams' this comes up at least once a week.

Scammers have found enough dumb people to believe a person from Nigeria or so will buy a tractor sight unseen for double it's value, and offer to pay for it with a (counterfeit) international check of twice what you are to recieve. You're supposed to 'refund' the extra money. Then your bank demands all the money be returned, and no one ever bothers to look at your tractor. Thewy just take the money you sent them.

As they get more sophisticated, they will get better scams going.
