My 3020 had the same problem- turned out to be a battery cable that rubbed the frame underneath the cowl. Had a slight break in the insulation that let electricity bleed off, but too small to spark. These problems can be hard to find.

I had the same problem with mu 1650 Oliver- 2 new batteries and they wouldn't hold a charge. ie in 3 days they would be dead. After a lot of checking up with my voltmeter, it turmed out that it was the fuel guage that was leaking the power somehow- once it was disconected, the batteries held a charge.

Get your volt meter out and then disconnect one of the battery cables. Touch one of the volt meter leads to the cable end that you removed and the other lead to the empty battery post. If you have a drain/leak, you will read voltage. (If reading negative, reverse your leads) Start removing fuses/wires from various systems and when the volts fall to zero, this is the system causing the drain. Concentrate on this system to find the problem. It may be a component or could be the wire harness shorted to ground. Have you added anything electrical recently such as a radio, alternator, etc?

What alternator are you using? If it is not hooked up correctly, or has a bad diode, the battery will be discharged. Try hooking the batteries back up and removing all wires from the alternator, having noted their position, and taping them up for safety. If the batteries no longer go dead, you've locallized the problem to the alternator, or how it's hooked up.

I've seen conversions where the fuel gauge has been hooked up wrong, and remained powered up with the key off, which will also drain the batteries.

There is a potential for the starter solenoid or the key switch to have moist debris in them, also, which will bleed off battery power.
