A friend of mine has a dealership in Owosso MI. S+K Farm and Yard. 989-723-2369. He has an extensive parts inventory. Don't know your location but thet most likely have what you need if you can't find them locally.

I don't think your Case/IH/New Holland/MF/White/Oliver/Catepilar/Challenger/and i am sure a few more dealer will have parts for you 446. I tried to round up a muffler for one sometime back and ended up at Ingersol. Now this is Ingersol, NOT Ingersol/Rand. Hope your wallet is thick. The muffler was about the same price as a new MTD lawn tractor. In one of the many buyouts/mergers Case sold the line to Ingersol and it is still produced today and looks just like it used to. Unless it has changed in the last year. Search for Ingersol and call em, they can help you.

Have you tried your local CNH dealer? I got genuine deck belts for my 446 from my CNH dealer. He had to order them, but got them overnight.

Also look for an Ingersoll dealer. When Case and IH merged back in 1985, the Case lawn and garden line was sold to Ingersoll. The majority of CaseIH dealers were former International dealers, and were still handling Cub Cadet, even though bankrupt International had sold it several years before to MTD. I have a 446 myself. Parts are becoming an issue for the PTO clutch . . . .

I don't think they were sold to Ingersoll, since Ingersoll always did build the tractors. Probably just sold them the rights to keep producing them. They were always built by Ingersoll, had the Case paint and stickers put on, and were sold through the Case dealers, weren't they?

Back in the '60s, when Deere, IH, etc., were getting into the lawn tractor market, JI Case decided they wanted in, too. So they bought Colt Manufacturing. Until 1985, the 446 was an honest-to-goodness JI Case-built tractor.

Tim, your the most correct one here. The operations were then sold to an investor named Jack Ingersoll. He has since sold the operations to a large German conglomeration. The tractors are still producd at the origanal plant in Winneconne,Wisc.

Hi, Go to the Case Garden tractor site on Yahoo Groups. Lot of info. Also do a search on Ingersoll and the dealer locator. Make sure you use 2 L's, they are from WI and not Ingersol-Rand. At the Yahoo site you'll get info on setting that clutch or the dealer will tell you too I would think. Good strong tractor worth repairing. Bill
