Does anyone know what the crankshaft diameter at the rod bearings, would be for an allis chalmers WD? I am trying to find out so I can mic mine to tell if it is standard or undersized so I can order an overhaul kit.

Also would anyone know where I can get about 4 rod bolts. I had to break mine rod bolts off to get the connecting rods loose on two cyclinders.

Thanks for the help!

Do you know about shimming the new bearings? Unless your machineshop machines the bearing caps, block, and rods for the proper fit you need to sim them to get proper clearance and bearing shell "crush". This has been described several times over on the AC board, it is a time consumming little job. You need to understand what you are doing and have a few specialized tools/measuring insturments to do a good job. That said, if you take it slow it isn't hard. Get back to me if you can't find it in the AC archives.

I dont know the answer to your question, but you should get the crank machined BEFORE you order your bearings.if the crank has been turned or even if its standard, there will be SOME wear which will throw off the mic as to what you have, say if its .010 undersizes and wore an additional .002 then thats .012 under, you wont find bearings like that, usually they are .010,.020,and .030.

Order a service manual from ytmag site to find out the clearances and torque specs.
