Where are you located? If it is close I'll give you current scrap prices and I'll haul them. But if you want someone to pay "antique" tractor price for common junk found easily all over the country that is not me or most people here. If you are trying to get someone to beg you not to crush them, that ain't me neither. Everyone crushed makes mine worth more. So what is it and Where is it?

Seriously...

This is the kind of mentality that REALLY jerks my chain. This is the same kind of thinking that allows people to get MAD that the JOBS are all going overseas, yet everybody wants to buy cheap shirts/shoes/cars/tools, etc. Sometimes the whole IS worth more than the sum of it's parts - in this poor fellow's world, literally. I can sympathize that you want to make as much money as you can - that's natural, but there's always a price to be paid. Next time you hear fellas griping and moaning about people not buying American, or another plant closing in the US to be opened in IndoChina - do everyone a favor - swallow your pride AND any negative comments about it, because you, my friend, are contributing to the problem...

In the late 80's / early 90's, society was all up in arms about the Japanese buying up tons of land in CA and HI. Problem is, for them to buy it, SOMEONE had to sell it.

Here's another example: you've got some automatic weapons laying around. Someone who is dressed like a gangbanger, talks like a gangbanger, walks like a gangbanger, and has with him 6 friends acting the same way - well these folks offer you $200 more each for your weapons than you could get elsewhere. Do you sell it to them? No need to answer here - you're the one who has to live with your decision.

G'head. Sell your stuff to whoever you want. Just be honest with yourself about who and what you're selling out. Beauty part about America is that you're 100% free to cut your nose off to spite your face...

my nickle.

didn't you hear Bushes economic advisors-these type of jobs should move overseas-we will just replace them with more low pay service jobs. Welcome to the world of the farmer-trying to compete against an african who uses his wive as a mule and willing to sell corn for 3 cents per bushel. The american people only care about their wallets-nothing else

JF, How greedy of you. Just how deep do you really think that that African farmer using 2 wives to pull a plow is going to dig into your silo. Even at 3 cents a bushel, he cant grow enough to feed his starving livestock let alone compete with you. You probably leave more in the field after harvesting than he grows to begin with. If you want to be angry with someone, get angry with the Europeans, and environmentalists who "stack" the market by spreading the myth that our U.S. roundup corn is going to kill African babies so that we cant even give our corn away to stave off starvation. Kyoto will solve that one.....NOT!!!

who said I was angry. I am not concerned about roundup corn that is in essence marketed and promoted by a multi million dollar company that has enslaved the ones who choose to produce it. Don't blow a gasket-my example was that the rest of society is now dealing with issues the american farmer has struggled with for years, world wide competiton on an unlevel playing field, including labor cost, union issues, production factors, environmental concerns all to compete for the american dollar.(the most stable and sought after form of currency) The american consumer can care less where it comes from as long as it is CHEAP. Thank god that the american farmer is the most productive, effecient, streamlined producer there is. At 10% of our disposable income for food that has allowed the nation to concentrate and pursue more money and materialism. Greed is not an issue for me.The strength of our nation rests in the ability of farmers to keep the food stream going if you will. They have become a less than vocal minority of 1.8 % of the total population-poliotical fodder if you will. Democracy now votes in blocks and that is not a big enough block to have an impact. The politicians know that 100% of consumers buy food and only 1.8 % produce it. Import it is their mentality same is now going for all other sector jobs-steel, auto, textiles, etc. I will admit poor example but pure intent. Why will the american government not help out these poor nations-what other than the christian approach would be their benefit? No reources, oil, development, military positioning. The lsi goes on and on. Interseting to note that the american dairy farmer will suffer if bush gets his way. He wants to import more dairy products from australia to a country that is already awash in the products. Who cares the consumer no cheap is good. All because australia helped in the iraq war-by probably sending 8 troops

If these tractors are truely only worth scrap, why did you spend more on them than they were worth for scrap? That was stupid. Read your own post, it took scrap prices to come up for you to get your money back. Come on. That can only mean you paid to much for them to start with. I don't believe that. Well I believe what you are saying, as far as getting your dollar. Its the part you left unsaid that you are not seeing. You think you are going to put a junker F-20 or VAC up for sell on E-bay and sell it for just over scrap, you are nuts. You are dealing with a world wide auction house on E-bay. Nobody in there right mind is going to drive more than half-way across there own state to haul a junk F-20 or VAC home. Paying for shipping is way out of the question. Is a parts tractor worth more than scrap? It most certainly is, but only on a local market. You got to sell something like that at a local auction (perhaps one of your own), or through local classifieds. Stop and think about a little bit. You can't tell me that if you had good rear rims for an F-20, that you can't get more money for them than there weight in scrap prices. Ya sure, the bone pile is going for scrap no matter what, but you aren't going to convince me that the good parts are only worth scrap even at the higher price. If I was you, I would get in touch with the closest tractor salvage yard. They know what scrap is going for to. There not stupid.

to each his own. I'm not in this for the money. I'll keep parting mine out thanks. Why would I want to sell to the chinese? They are not my friend.

Cowman, Of course they are your friend! Let them sell you a Kawasuchimachopizzalepto brand tractor made from our steel, it will still be junk and you can recycle it AGAIN in about 5 years, you would be doing the world a great favor. lol

i cant believe that your tractors are worth more as scrap than parts. just cant. strip them down and sell the parts. carbs, rims, hubs, seats, aircleaners,ect,..... all worth money. part them out. people search out parts, me included. but the one guy is right. the more you scrap [ouch that hurts], the more mine are worth. pg
