Heard a couple of times about a big show which is supposedly one of the oldest in the country which takes place in Iowa somewhere I think. Anyone know what they may have been speaking of? Sounded like a nice trip if its for real.

Thanks guys. Sounds like the Old Threshers is the one I had heard about. I (and 4 of my friends) hit Portland,IN and Buckley,MI every year but I think we'll look into a "road trip" to IA this year also!

The show in Mt. Pleasont is a good one. There is a good show in Waverly also. There are alot of old machines here in Iowa. I am sure you would have a good time at any show you went to.

You may have heard about the OLD THRESHERS REUNION, held every labor day weekend in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. This is also the location for The RED POWER ROUNDUP, but will take place in June of this year, someone else can fill in the actual dates, I don't remember them right now.

Sounded like it has been held every year for a long while and was quite a large show. I'm in Michigan and try to make it to at least one of the bigger shows out of the MI,OH,IN area every year. Been hearing about this one for a few years but never had enough info to plan a trip. Is it as good as I've heard?

Old Threshers, in my opinion, is the MECCA of all steam shows. If you get the opportunity, try to go. You won't be disappointed!

Other shows that make great road trips are in Rollag, MN, Portland, IN, and Pawnee, OK.

I'm with a nice show in Georgetown, Ohio. The Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Show will be held Aug 12-15 this year, and we are featuring Case tractors, and Hercules Gas Engines. You can email me if you would like more information.

I just happen to live about 15 minutes from the Old Threshers grounds. I went to the show 2 years ago. Gobs and gobs of pre 1950 tractors of all breeds. Also a lot of steam engines, several daily demostrations of horse powered threshing, baling, and a belt driven corn sheller. Also several large museums full of old steam engines, equipment and displays. Every night they have a country band play (last year they had Willie Nelson, Trace Atkins and a couple of others). Performers will be announced in late spring. If you are going to go, plan on 2 days and buy a button that gets you in all days. Cheapens it up quite a bit. Think it's like $7 a day or $12 for a button.
