I am looking at a MD T-20 crawler, its a 1935 year model. Owner says it runs and steers good.. has set for 20 yrs in a barn.. needs alote of TLC. What should i look on the machine and have you seen one sell lately? Thanks for your reply...

Look at the track chain/bushings & sprocket. Bushings should not be worn through. Sprockets should not be worn to a sharp point. Does it have hood & sides. Most old machines don't have the sides. These are not available. Engine free? Check the manifold for cracks. There are many items to look at on old crawlers. Email me if you need more info. Where are you located. I have 2 of these machines.

Most tractors don't have the side curtains. Some engine parts are still available as the engine is the same as a F20 with the exception of the head. Diffwerent head gasket & valves. Most people buy a parts tractor if major parts are needed. There were over 15,000 of these made from 1932 till 1939. A good book to get is Iconographics "Tractractor photo book" They are always on ebay. Check out this site-www.ibdozing.com. Go to the project site & scroll down tom see some photos of T20s. If the tractor will run & steer nicely, It would be worth $1200.00.
