Thanks for the help earlier I fould the gasket for the oil pan on my Case 300. Now, should I use some sort of sealer with it. I picked up a tube of Ultra Copper and thought I would use a little on each side of the gasket.

Use your choice of gasket sealer. I like COPPER COAT as I only use it to hold the gasket in place while I assemble. I never never use any sealer on the block side of a gasket. If you ever have to take apart you will find out why.
Pan gaskets leak from over tighting. To prevent this I use a little 1/4 inch ratchet to tighten so I do not get to much torque.

Cork gasket material will seal used dry. The trick is to avoid overtightening the bolts and distorting the pan sealing surface, creating leaks. If you feel you must use a sealant Permatex #2 is the ultimate; following the directions really does help.

I will be putting the pan on a IH DT466 engine in the morning and am going to use pematex gasket sealer. I like to let it sit out and thicken up and lightly brush both sides. I have had problems with silicone causing a gasket to squeeze out on me. If the pan is cast iron a light coat of grease will work just as well. 30+ years of wrenching you learn what types of sealers work the best on different gasket materiels and applications mainly by trial and error. Hope to have this puppy running tomorrow afternoon.

I normally use it only in areas that are known trouble spots. Most gaskets don't need it. It won't hurt, if you use it VERY SPARINGLY. Keep in mind that any excess to the inside could come loose, float around in the oil and plug up an oil passage and cause a problem.

I use silacone for all my gaskets other then the head and I use the copper spray for that. I even use the silacone on bolts to stop them from comeing out. Just me but hope this helps
