Have a broken left final drive housing, that I have found a replacement for, BUT, the part #'s are totaly different.

The broken part I have is # 9824 DCX. The #'s and the DC are "CAST", when the part was made, and the X was stamped into the housing.

The part I found is # 6827 DB. I believe this is off an A.

Need to find out if this is the same housing, with just different #'s, because of the year made, or if they are totaly different.

One person told me the # 9824 DCX was for a V model, but acording to the serial # it is SA, not a hig clerance model.

Thank you for any help you can give. If there is a different forum I need to be on to find out the answer to this question, please let me know.

Thanks.

UG!

I find that 9 811DAX, Housing, L.H., 144 000 and four STUDS fits Super A only. (69 499 D) BUT, 9 824DAX, Housing, L.H., 144 000 and six Studs fits Super AV only. (352 117 R1) Don't know the meaning of 144 000.
There is no listing for part #6827DB in the catalog dated 6/25/51. Maybe the answer is in the # of studs.

Thanks Slowpoke;
Wow! What a mess! Mine has 7.

At 12 o'clock is a bolt that boltsup from inside the rearend.

At 2,4,8 & 10 o'clock are bolts that are about 1/2".

At 5 & 7 o'clock are bolts about 9/16-5/8".

I may have to just try to weld the one I have.

Again, Slowpoke, thanks. I have more info than I had too start.

UG!

The parts drawing doesn't specify SA or SAV.
But there are holes at about 11, 12, & 1 o'clock at the top. 3 & 9 on the sides, and about 5, 6, & 7, on the bottom. The brake drum is right behind it & the drum is mounted on a short differential shaft which has gear teeth engaging the bull gear inside the casting.
Email If you need more info.
