I have recently inherited a 1956 Ford Tractor from my father. My Grandfather bought this tractor off the showroom floor in 1957. I am having a problem because in the picture that I have of grandpa on the day he bought it has Model 640 on both sides of the hood. No one can tell me the difference in the 600 & 640 models. I also need to find the decal with the "model 640" for the hood. Does anyone know the difference in the model or where I can locate the decal to restore my new pride in joy that has been in my family for over 30 years please help if at all possible or put me in touch with some one that may be able to help.

I recently saw an ad for an 871 Diesel. Does anyone have info on this model?

If you write me with your email address , I can give you a place to get the proper decal . I made my own template & painted it on before I located this place . Next time I'll order the right decals . Ken

Your tractor is both. 600 is the series and 640 is the model. If you look on the trans right behind the starter you should find your sn and model number. Several people sell decals New Holland might even have them.
