My Ford 640 has 4 Titans on it & I'm pleased with them . No weathered signs yet after 3 yrs . It sits outside most of the time .

I put a new 12.4 x 38 on my H 2 summers ago mainly on price (we are only 35 miles from the factory in Des Moines so shipping was very little), it is shedded 24 hours, yet is beginning to crack and weathercheck already.

Other than the cracking, the tread is holding up great, and they look nice too.

Has anyone ever heard of putting on a coat of brake fluid on tires to help keep them from cracking? My grandpa used to do it a couple times a year and it seemed to help, but maybe rubber was different then???

I bought a Titan last year . Found that the front edge of the lugs are wearing off faster than the other tire.Have to admit I bought it on price cause it was a bunch less than a Firestone. That is the only gripe I have with them so far.

Bought a complete set for our '51 Farmall H from Miller tires in Wauseon, Ohio. Put 12.4-38's on the rears and 5.50-16's on the fronts, they look real good. Titans are the old Armstrong Brand, an independent tire factory in Iowa I understand.

They are fine, I think they are made by Kelly, but not possitive. They are sold by Les Schwab out here in the Northwest.

Nope, The Dukester is right. The TITAN is really an ARMSTRONG. The factory is in Des Moines, Iowa.

Yep, Kelly (in Freeport, IL) only makes Good Year. The "OTHER Tire Plant" in Des Moines (Firestone) are the best. Not sure what brand name the old BFG tires go by now, Michelin maybe, but they're made in Miami, OK. Names have changed a little since I was involved in ag tractor tires over 20 yrs ago but the "Players" are still the same. ALL things considered the ranking used to be Firestone was the best in ALL catagories, followed by BFG, Then Good Year, Then Armstrong. Firestone spent the Big $$$$$$ 30 yrs ago to develope "The Machine" a mobile tire testing machine to learn what makes a better tractor tire and the competition still hasn't caught up with them.
