Haying in Oregon

Had a fun day yesterday. First off took the NH 78 baler out with the 485 Case to the neighbor's to bale the 4.5 acres. First thing the clutch on the PTO shaft kept slipping on the big loads of hay (OK I didn't get it spread very even at the gate) tightened it up then baled some but hit another heavy row and broke the shear pin. BUMMER Went home got the bag of new bolts for this and guess what those cheap bolts won't last more than1 or two bales. So went home and got some good bolts grade 5 loosened the clutch, broke off two bolts that were old and rusted, Big BUMMER. Next went home didn't have the correct length bolt so cut and re-threaded two that were much to long. Now we got the thing working went thought 286 bales without a hitch. all nice and tight about 60+ lbs.
Took it down to Ralph's for the next job noticed that the last two bales in the baler were not tied on the right side. Can't figure this one out it does two every once in while then goes back to baling, Gremlins I think. Well we will see today, first got to go get the new to us MF 725 mo-co from the neighbor then bale Ralph's field then cut the 8 acres in Dallas then then move down the street to the pony farm (Shetland Sheep the owner calls them) that is a real nice clean field of tall fescue.
Hope nothing else brakes down for a while I'm getting poorer and poorer at this haying. Anyway that was just over $1000 dollar field we baled yesterday. ( 9 ton at $120 )
