broken steel bolt in cass steel

Need help getting this sucker out. it is flesh to the cass steel. and a friend, who the mower belongs broke a drill bit off in it to. think i will try welding ,henrob welder, a nut on top and taking it out. unless someone can come up with something better. only one end showing.

A procedure that works well sometimes is, lets say its a 5/8 bolt, weld a heavy 1/2 flat washer to it, welding all around the inside of the washer, with 7018 or better. Then, weld a nut to the washer, welding all around the outside. Let it cool a little and try working it back and forth. Good luck!

Burn it out. get the pointiest flame you can get and stick it in there and burn it.

Yep. You shold be able to blow it out and never nick theads. Chase them when you're done just to clean them up.

It HAS worked pretty well, provided that you're careful with that darned torch tip and the direction to which you're pointing. Once, I messed up by holding it on an angle, burning a little of the threads off. But i've done 10 or so holes with success since.
