Heres my hauling outfit. Its a 1991 Ford F-350 Diesel extended cab dually with a 5 speed and 4.10 gears. The truck is way short on power and pulling the trailer it only gets 11 mpg empty and 7 mpg loaded.

The trailer is a 2006 Starlite 20+5 GN with 2-7000 lb axles. Its 102" wide.I have a Harbor Freight 8000 lb winch mounted on the trailer.I like the trailer fine but made a poor choice for a tow vehicle.

I wish I had a picture, but don't. But maybe you can picture this in your mind. This was back in the late 50's, early 60's. Dad's and Grandpa's farms were about 15 miles apart. Hauled all the non-wheeled or steel wheeled implements (disks, grain drills, etc) on hay racks. But the one hauled the most: Tow vehicle - Dad's 1956 Ford 1/2 ton pickup, V8, 3 speed. Trailer - JD 953 running gear with a Heider barge box. Load - 1950 Ford 8N, in the barge box. Can't tell how many time I made the trip with that "Hauling Rig".

heres mine 2000 ford 250+14,000lb equipt pro,, 25 ' with a 5' dovetail,,I must have just broke it in at 80,000miles it is now getting a whopping 7.4 mpg,, but its better than the 5.2 I was getting when loaded,,

PS,, the strap over the hood is ONLY holding the hood from flying off, it is not holding the tractor on, there are chains for that
