I bought one of those high dollar systems about 10 years ago, and everything worked as designed until about 2 months ago. It just quit regenerating.
Now, this is where the story gets interesting. I called the people who sold me the unit (complete with a lifetime warranty), and the repairman came out, and told me that "stage 1" was bad, which he replaced----supposedly 3 times, now.
The unit still isn"t working correctly, and will not quit syphoning at the end of the cycle on 1 side. It has 2 soft water tanks, so in theory, I"m never supposed to run out of soft water.
Now for the question---does anyone else have this type water softener, had any problems, or can tell me where I can get more information as to what might be wrong?
I"d appreciate any help! Thanks in advance!

I have had one of them for 20 years with good results until about a year ago. First they said any problem is likely from a bad float. New $60 float made no difference, but I found I was getting rust from "upstream" and clogging things up. In the mean time the only tech info I could get was a copy of the patent description from the patent office. If you are confused now, read one of those! No help at all. As soon as I get my rust problem cured, I'll try to get the meter cleaned and working (by the dealer). Good luck, guess this wasn't much help.
