we have a water well. The pump has been kicking on a lot lately so I turned off the water supply & relieved the pressure on the line & put a air guage on the bladder tank. Water sqirts out. Have I got a ruptured bladder in the tank? Any fixing it?

2x4 yes bladder is bad just went thru this myself , but buy the largest new tank you can afford my new one is a 40 gal and this keeps pump from kicking on and off so much and pump will last longer as it is not cycling so often.

My tank did the same thing after about 16 yrs of use. I replaced it. Depending on where yours is located, you may have an easier job than me. And I don't see how I could get in to replace the bladder on my blue-tank model. Draining it was the pits -- the water INSIDE the bladder came out the drain OK. It was the water OUTSIDE the bladder, but still inside the tank that was the real challenge.

Hi,

I would say you most definitely have a ruptured bladder. You can replace the bladder in some tanks. I have replaced them in two different Sears tanks. It all depends on whether you can get an exact replacement bladder from the tank manufacturer. In the interim, you can gain some temporary relief by draining most of the water out of the tank and adding compressed air through the shrader fitting up to your normal pump cut-in pressure. It will last for a little while until the air gets absorbed back into the water, then you'll have to repeat until you can replace the bladder or the entire tank.

I thought adding air that way would help for a while. Thanks
