Monarch (Grand Rapids,Mi) is still in business. They build hyd pumps, power units, ect.Their units are used by many different companies.Western &Meyer both used them. Older units may or may not be rebuildable(depends on whats wrong)newer ones are more 'throw away'. Most all plows now are electric/hyd,but if you want belt drive,it can be done.Your pump should mtg to the gen, they added a pulley to it & turns the same as engine. As aside note saginaw (GM) ps pumps have also been used.A good hyd shop should be able to fix it.

We had one of these on a 57 CJ 5. It was piggy-back mounted to the generator on the curb side of the engine. It had a raise / lower control rod that ran back through the dash. If I remember right it worked real well and had plenty of lift. I may be mistaken but I think the plow that it lifted was a "Western" . So that might be a source of info on the pump also. I believe Monarch supplied pumps to many users.

The direction shouldn't be hard to figure out; just hold it as if it were mounted on the engine. When facing the front of the engine (and the pump), they should both turn clockwise. I would type in Monarch Road Machinery on "Google" and see what you come up with. BTW, I got a couple of these on a trade/deal afew years ago but I tucked them away and haven't even looked them over real good. Some day I'll get "a round tuit".

Hey Brian

Would you be interested in selling one of the pumps that you currently have? I have a 47 Willys Jeep and the pump on there broke. The pully and shaft snapped off.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Brian,

Would you be willing to sell one of those Monarch pumps ?

My 51 Willys Jeep has one for the snow plow, but it finally got too old and loose this winter and is shot. I've been looking here in Minnesota, but haven't found one yet. Can you help me out ?

Thanks.....
