I just bought a very old welder (been sitting in an old barn for years), a Sears Craftsman, and wonder if anyone can give me any information about it. It seems to work pretty well, I cleaned it up, inside and out. The nameplate info is:

Model No. 113.1931

Primary - Volts 230 Amps 46

Secondary - Welding Range 20-300 amps

Time Rating - 200 Amps-1/2 hr-36 Volts
Max Open Circuit Volts 94

Has anyone used one of these or does anyone know how much $$$ it may be worth? It doesn't have a dial type control, it has a bunch of female sockets to plug each cable into (for the different amp ratings). Can anyone tell me where to get new fittings to make new welding cables? I've never welded before, but I'm having fun with this new tool/toy.

Thanks

before you run out and buy new male cable ends, check to see if the ones you have are soldered to the cable. if they are, the old cable can be taken out and a new one soldered in.

300 amps is pretty good for an AC welder. As far as the plugs, try Sears parts department. You might want to try reusing the old ones if you can.

It's probably worth in the $40-100 range depending on where you sell it.
