I have a 25HP twin with 80 hours on it. It all of a sudden started smoking. The breater is open. Any ideas! It has been well maintained.

Thank You

make sure the dipstick tube is sealed. A bad seal will cause oil burn due to lack of crackcase vacuum.

I too am having intermittant heavy smoking problems with my kohler K-582. It runs OK for 30 or so minutes, then starts belching blue smoke for a while. It mysteriously stops smoking then starts again after a while. The oil breather is clear and the filler cap is tight. What can it be?
