Just did this on my NAA, and on my 52 8N a few months ago. You have to back the brake adjustment all the way out first. There is a ridge that has more than likely formed from wear on the drums from the pads over the last 50 years or so - this is what is keeping the drums on. After the brake adjuster is backed all the way out, protect your ears, than take a large hammer and go around the edge of the drum to pound it off the hub. You have to get on the very edge so you don't smack your rear brake cover plate, and go in a circle all around the drum. It will come off, and you wont hurt anything.

Good luck,
Dan

Did you back off the adjustment first? Then take a torch and heat around each wheel stud. The drum should come off if you do that.
