Has anyone ever used oven cleaner to strip paint and grease off a tractor? How well does it work and does it create any future problems to watch for? Friend of mine sprays it on, lets it set for 30 min. and sprays it off with a pressure sprayer. Says it works pretty well. Thanks

Try search on "lye gravy" on this YT site.
Hope this helps!

Quite a bit of information about this. You might want to look up the information in the archives section.

I tried a can of easy off oven cleaner and was surprised at how well it went through old grease and paint right down to the metal. It took a few applications to get through the heavier grease deposits. If using a pressure washer, be careful,it will scatter the stuff in a large area, removing paint from whatever it lands on. Be prepared to prime the exposed surface as the rust process starts quickly..... Tom
