Cub Cadet charging system

I have a Cub Cadet 105 how can i check to see if the voltage regulator is working properley the amb gage reads charging when i push the contacts togeather but the battery will not charge, battery good. Will tractor run off of generator with battery disconected. any help will be grate

check the grounding of the voltage regulator. on mine there was a braided wire strap that was riveted on,and the rivet had come loose. i drilled out the rivets in the rubber mount and replaced them with brass machine screws. then i replaced the braided strap with a peice of 14ga wire with ring terminals crimped on either end. attach the in the same place the strap was.

Check the past posts on "ihcubcadet.com" website. VERY good diagnostic posts were made about a week ago. Check posts by a guy named Hank Van Cleef I think His name was.
