The shifting lever to the transmission came unhooked and it's locked in gear. How do I fix it?

Gary, as I understand your problem, your tractor is stuck in one gear and the shift lever does nothing to remove it from this gear? The shift lever is held in with two bolts. Remove them and lift up the shifter BUT BE CAREFULL, there are 2 springs under the shifter housing. DON'T drop them into the tranny! Look down into the hole and you will see 2 parallel shafts with a notch in each one. Line the notches together side by side with a large screwdriver, put your shifter back on with the end of the shifter in the notch and bolt it back down. That should be all there is to it. Jim T
