My dad has a Satoh tractor and the 3 point hitch will not lift.I can lift it easily by hand but it falls back down.It has plenty of fluid and the hydraulic pump in the front is working and has alot of pressure at the line coming off of it.Anyone have any advice?

On some tractors the 3pt will not lift if you connect hydraulic hoses to the pump. On older Deere tractors you have to change plugs that will divert the flow internally from the 3pt to the hoses. Don't know anything about Satohs but that is often why Deere 3pts don't work.

Thanks Green in MI for the info. This pump has not had any extra hoses hooked up to it. But if you find any other info please pass along. THANKS

dont know this tractor, but our AC had an internal cylinder that pushes a cross rod, lifting both 3 point arms. the internal cylinder had its hose blown and the oil was running back to the steering/ hydraulic compartment. can you see the cylinder, or internal? our AC had a rear cover over the PTO that was easlily removed for back end inspection, hose replacement.

Steve, This tractor does have an inspection cover under the seat, I removed it and could see the internal cylinder but no hoses connected to it. On the side of the trans.there is a valve body which the control lever attaches.A friend told me maybe one of the valves inside it might be stuck open or closed so I will try that next. Thanks again for your help. Hope this is it.

Steve, Thanks for the info. This week I will look for an inspection plate and see if I can see the cylinder or hoses. Thanks

Steve and Green in MI, I took the valve body apart and found a piece of metal stuck under a check valve. The valve was stuck open. After removing it, it works great. THANKS for the help.
