Im wondering if i use 110 race fuel if its breaking the rules, and if it is, what are the chances the rules will be enforced?

110 is legal under most rules,it is below the specfic weight that NATPA enforces.

Below the specific gravity that NATPA enforces..... or do you mean under the specific gravity that NATPA has listed in the rules?

I could be wrong, but the way I understood it at the NATPA meeting a few months ago is that they have no way to enforce the rule on specific gravity of fuel.

Around my area no one gives a crap what you burn.Heck once a guy was burning laquer paint thinner, boy that smelled wierd. Now if it was hitting a mean lick/choppy idle and smelled of nitro methane in farm stock someone would say something.

Odds are using E-85 with larger carb jets will make more power even on a stock engine. Adding octane to an engine that already has enough octane to prevent detonation, gains ZERO.

What compression ratio are you running that requires 110?

im some where in the range between 10.5-11 to 1 compression, and some guys say im missing some easy power gains becuase im not using 110, ive tried mixing ethonal in, and tried preimium gas and premium with booster added, but am curious if i have alot to gain with the risk of running 110 and getting caught, plus the price of it is alot to chew! thanks

Octane doesn't make power. Octane lets you raise compression, increase timing, and have a poorer cylinder head design. If it doesn't knock on what you have, save your money.

Is there any fuel booster that works just as good but harder to detect? becuase i know what your saying about the smell, you can tell whos running race and/or avgas. Or can i buy the additive that makes it smell like cherrys or cotton candy? does that work or just draw more attention?

There was something on here a week or so ago about the same thing. Most rules say pump gas and I know I can get 110 at several gas stations around here. Shaggy

Most pulls around here are quite specific about use. It's pretty easy to tell if someone is using it, the exhaust has quite a specific smell to it. Also, the racing gas I use in my open tractor is blue.
