Any and all information anyone could tell me as far as their set ups would be appreciated.

I currently have a 48 John Deere B sitting in the shed. I know it will be a pulling tractor. I have not yet decided whether it will be mild or wild.

I currently have John Deere 40 thats been bored and a good amount of head work done that pulls decent in our 3500 pound stock to fairly stock class right now.

I plan on building this B to make a fun pair to pull with simply because I already have this B.

Anything that you all would share is appreciated. Engine setups, bores, strokes, tire sizes, weight reduction tips. What works and doesnt etc.

Thanks ahead of time.

i'm also going to try to attatch a picture of the tractor as it sits now as well

John

A JD B can be the cubic inch of a stock A, from what I recall.

With the right parts, a JD B can be bigger than a stock G.

I would build an earlier B if possible, the gearing is better for big cid setup, the tractor will lighter than the newer one and a ton of parts for B's out there, I would head toward a big bore or a powerblock, the powerblocks are kinda pricey, a stock block can be bored alot, get a good head and have it worked, go with a 7" stroker crank get an idea on what compression you want and go from there, I would build one that would run high test pump gas if you can, the race fuel is outrageous now.

what size journals do you use with a 7" stroke and rods. I'm looking to do one this winter and make it around 450 cubes.

7" stroke with a B, will it go that far! will a 190ci block fit on a 173ci crank case? that would make some super power
All that power on a 45 B
